Feedback from Crit...

I found the crit quite helpful today, there were some good points raised, and it was nice to see what everyone else has been doing. I got feedback for two briefs (outlined below), the majority of which I think will benefit my work and enable me to experiment further.

Orion Book Covers
  1. Play with the scale of the type on the covers; enlarge certain elements
  2. Show consideration of different formats of book; hardback or softback
  3. Spot colour on hard cover?
  4. Try turning the jacket into a poster that folds out
  5. Incorporate the colour from the back of the cover to the front
  6. Try creating a boxed set of books
  7. Create bookmarks, postcards and posters for promotional material
  8. Try creating window stickers of the type designs
Value Packaging
  1. Less white is better on all the designs
  2. How will the information (ingredients, nutritions etc) be displayed?
  3. The vertical value design was chosen as the strongest for having the least white area, the type being simple but strong and the overall design being cheap to produce, but not looking cheap
  4. The separation of the vertical Value makes it a focus of the design, and easy to spot when browsing.
